Go Greener: Our latest barge “Jo”

In 2022, inland shipping entrepreneur, Sven Calluy, retrofitted the motor tanker ship (MTS) “Jo”, turning her into a green tanker ship.


Sven Calluy, BAVARO AG. says, that “[o]ur customer wanted the ship to be deliverable within a year, so newbuilding was not an option.” The retrofit, not only resulted in a faster return to operation, its costs were also half that of a newbuild ship.

The MTS 'Jo' has since been operational from Waalhaven, bunkering Gulf Marine lubricants to shipping vessels within the ARA area (Amsterdam, Rotterdam, Antwerp).
