Environmentally Acceptable Lubricants
Vessels operating in US waters are required under the US EPA Vessel General Permit (VGP) 2013 to use Environmentally Acceptable Lubricants wherever oil-to-sea interfaces exist, including sterntubes, stabiliser fins, deck machinery, and thruster systems. Gulf Marine's GulfSea BD range meets the VGP definition in full: biodegradable, minimally toxic, and non-bioaccumulative, without compromising the performance standards your equipment demands.
Biodegradable Hydraulic Oils
GulfSea BD Hydraulic Oils replace conventional hydraulic fluids at oil-to-sea interface points on vessels operating in US waters or other EAL-mandated regions. Typical applications include CPPs, watertight doors, ramps, platforms, davits, cranes, winches, capstans, and some stabiliser designs. Ester-based and zinc-free, they deliver high anti-wear performance and full VGP biodegradability compliance without sacrificing service life.
