Gulf and Aston Martin Racing have taken an emotional victory at the 2014 Le Mans 24 Hours as, a year on after the tragic loss of driver Allan Simonsen at the French circuit, the #95 Gulf-lubricated Aston Martin Racing Vantage GTE returned to score a well deserved and fitting LM GTE Am category win, with the all Danish crew of Kristian Poulsen, Nicki Thiim and David Heinemeier-Hansson.
The #97 car of Darren Turner, Stefan Mücke and Bruno Senna finished 6th in LM GTE Pro, having led for much of the race, while the sister#98 LM GTE Am car of Paul Dalla Lana, Pedro Lamy and Christoffer Nygaard had a similar race story, leading for a long period and also finishing sixth in category.
