Gulf had cause for a double celebration this weekend, as F3 man of the moment, Felix Rosenqvist, pulled off an excellent win in, what is effectively Formula 3’s “World Cup” - the Macau Grand Prix.
Gulf Oil Marine sponsored the Theodore Racing Prema team at the Macau GP and all three drivers finished in the top 10, but Rosenqvist really was the man to beat all week. Starting from Pole Position, he was briefly headed in the first couple of laps but, after a safety car period, retook the lead shortly after the restart and was never challenged thereafter. It is his second successive Macau GP win – a feat few have matched. |

Lance Stroll and Jake Dennis finished 8th and 9th respectively - an impressive performance given that they were competing amongst the World’s top 30 Formula 3 drivers.
Sadly, Richard Lyons’ Gulf Oil Marine-sponsored Craft-Bamboo Racing Aston Martin Vantage GT3 was unable to maintain the fine run of podium places that Gulf Oil Marine has had in the Macau GT race as the Briton, failed to finish. It was, however, certainly not enough to dampen the Gulf spirits on what was a truly excellent weekend of motorsport for the brand. |
