To appreciate the support of our customers in China, Gulf Oil Marine organized a Customer Appreciation Event / 2020 Technical Seminar in Changsha.  More than 25 key customers attended the event.

Mr. Jack Ma, Marine General Manager (China Key Accounts) kicked off the meeting, providing a brief overview on Gulf Oil Marine’s recent development in China.  He explained how Gulf Oil Marine in China has managed to grow over the past 7 years and expressed his appreciation to our customers, many of whom have been with us since day 1.

Mr. Wesley Jiang, Technical Engineer , took the audience through the 2020 regulations and the compliance methodologies.  He also shared some cases where non-compliance in ECA zones resulted in severe penalties. Mr. Kent Ru, Technical Manager – China, shared the Gulf Oil Marine’s product slate, ready for 2020 and explained that our company is developing new products which are being tested under Gulf Oil Marine’s test ships program. Kent Ru also discussed Gulf Oil Marine’s test programmes. Mr. Wesley Jiang then introduced Gulf Oil Marine’s new software documentation platform and demonstrated how it could help and provide guidelines to ship operators in preparation of their vessel’s compliance plans for the 2020 Global 0.5%S emission regulations.

Kwok Yew Meng informed the audience that Gulf Oil Marine has been working closely with the OEMs on this topic and that the OEM’s views on 2020 were broadly similar to ours.  He then closed the meeting taking on some of the questions that were asked.

 

This is the second Chinese event with Gulf Oil Marine’s focus on the 2020 Global Sulphur Cap. Gulf Oil Marine hopes that these events could enhance our customers’ understanding of the requirements for the 2020 new emission regulations and assist them to better plan their transition solutions for their vessels before 1st January 2020.
