2020 Transition Seminar in Hong Kong

Gulf Oil Marine conducted its third 2020 Transition Seminar last Thursday, 29th November 2018 at the Park Lane, Hong Kong. More than 60 ship owners, ship managers and ship operators attended.

 

As the 2020 global Sulphur cap regulations draw closer, Gulf Oil Marine is helping customers with a documentation platform for customers to conveniently prepare their ship specific implementation plans (per IMO’s recent guidelines). Gulf Oil Marine also presented its recommended lubrication transition solutions for customers to ensure that their lubrication needs are well taken care of and are aligned with their fuel compliance methods when they start to transit towards 2020.

Mr. Graham Calder, Senior Technical Manager from Gulf Oil Marine shared the overview on IMO 2020 regulations and the various compliant solutions meeting the 0.5% Sulphur cap.  He also shared Gulf Oil Marine’s product slates which are compatible for the various compliant-fuel solutions for 2020.

To further understand the views of OEMs on the new regulations, Gulf Oil Marine invited a OEM specialist as guest speaker, Mr. Sun Quan, Head of Marketing & Sales Support, Marine Two Stroke, Senior Manager from MAN China. He explained to the audience MAN’s engine development programmes.

 

Mr. Safiul Gazi, General Manager of Business Development and Innovation then introduced Gulf Oil Marine’s new software documentation platform.  The platform which will be launched around end December, will help customers document their detailed ship specific implementation plans. Many customers registered keenness in wanting to have access to this platform.

The event enhanced the understanding on the operational challenges and how to implement their plans efficiently. Many Hong Kong based customers interested on various topics and discussions continued through the cocktail session.

 

Mr. Keith Mullin, CEO of Gulf Oil Marine, ended the seminar, thanking everyone for their strong support over the years. He promised our customers that we will continue to deliver our full range of lubricant solutions on-time in-full.
