Embarking on Gulf Oil Marine’s Growth Journey with our Valued Partners

Participants from our three business partners across South East Asia (Infinity Logistics Philippines Company, Malaysia’s Marquis Oil, and from Indonesia, PT Dwi Centro Perkasa) were in Gulf Oil Marine’s Singapore office on May 8th and 9th 2013, to attend the first ever training for our distributors.

Conducted over two days, the training began with CEO Keith Mullin’s overview of the Hinduja Group, its core values, as well as Gulf Oil Marine’s business and our business values.  Mr Manimaran, Managing Director of Marquis Oil said, “the overview presentation gave me a very clear perspective of GOM’s business, its global standing and critically, its vision.”

KC Tseng, SE Asia Operations & Supply Chain Manager, then explained the requirements of being a GOM distributor to the participants.  Our distributors are expected to help us maintain our cherished customer value proposition of providing outstanding customer services, 24/7.  At the same time, he pointed out that while our company expected good results, the way the results were attained was also an important consideration: it must conform to our own stringent standards of business practices and ethics.

When Vicky Lew, Supply Chain Planner, presented the company’s supply chain, delivery and inventory management and guidelines, Mr Jojo Calubaquib, President of Infinity Logistics, said “it made me realize the importance of the role that we, the local partners, play in the full scheme of Gulf Oil Marine’s global delivery system.”

On the second day of the training session, Irwan Jaafar, our Senior Technical Manager, took the training participants through the company’s product and technical services, including basic marine lube product knowledge, training, used oil analysis, ship visits, etc.

KC summed up the session thus, “this is the beginning of the journey, no doubt a pretty decent one, and further work will be needed to help our partners build competence, so that they become ready to capture all viable opportunities.”  To which, Mr Manimaran fully, agreed, “We at Marquis Oil, stand ready to be Gulf Oil Marine’s partner for its growth journey!”
