Gulf Marine Reveals 4,000-Hour RRBO Sea Trial Results at Motorship Conference

Gulf Marine shared the latest findings from our Re-Refined Base Oils (RRBO) research programme at the 46th Motorship Propulsion & Future Fuels Conference in Hamburg.

 

Technical Manager, Vladimir Shnurkov, presented data from a 4,000-hour sea trial comparing cylinder lubricants formulated with RRBO against 100 % virgin base oil references.

The trial confirmed that RRBO-blended lubricants deliver wear rates, piston cleanliness, deposit control and oxidation stability that match the performance virgin base oil, while reducing lifecycle CO₂ emissions up to 90 %.
