The Macau GT Cup which took place in the former Portuguese enclave, was the biggest event of the Macau Grand Prix.  It is held on a tortuous track which winds through the streets of what is known as the "Monaco of Asia", well-known not just for its famous race track but also for the plethora of casinos.  The Guia track is widely considered to be one of the most challenging circuits in the world, in fact many of the top Formula 1 champions cut their teeth with wins at Macao; Ayrton Senna, Michael Schumacher Lewis Hamilton have all raced there.

Danny Watts and Richard Meins took on the daunting circuit in a pair of McLaren MP4-12C GT3 cars sponsored by Gulf Oil Marine and The Noble Group.  The team faced fierce competition in a packed 33-car grid as it hunted for fourth consecutive podium in Asia.  But both Danny and Richard measured up remarkably; Danny started at 8th on the grid to finish 2nd while Richard Meins finished 6th from 20th on the grid.
